✅ #KarateKIID - analysis of key investor information using NLP
The #KarateKIID is a tool created by participants during the first edition of #Supervision_Hack, based on natural language processing (NLP) technology, for analyzing KIID (Key Investor Information) documents. Its goal is to facilitate the supervision of investment funds. The project automates data analysis processes and increases transparency of financial market information.
The tool has been successfully implemented by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, supporting ongoing supervisory activities.
✅ #FakeJobHunter - fighting fraud in the labor markety
The #FakeJobHunter is a tool developed by participants in the second edition of #Supervision_Hack to detect fake job ads, often used by fraudsters for financial scams. Fake job postings promise easy and high-paying employment, while in reality they can lead to the loss of money, personal information or implication in crimes such as money laundering.
This tool, successfully implemented by the UKNF, supports supervision in protecting job seekers from fraud and legal risks.
✅ #DEPO_Predator - a tool for early detection of bank liquidity problems
During the third edition of the #Supervision_Hack hackathon, one of the tasks was to develop the #DEPO_Predator tool, which is used to automatically analyze banks' deposit offers in order to detect liquidity problems early. The tool monitors changes in commercial banks' deposit offers and, based on trend analysis and current data, signals potential liquidity problems. Through the use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning, as well as data visualization tools, #DEPO_Predator makes it possible to react quickly to threats.
Polish Financial Supervision Authority is currently working to put the solution into production, which will help increase the stability of the financial sector.
✅ #Catch'em All - a mechanism for detecting phishing sites
#Catch'em all is a tool created during the first edition of #Supervision_Hack, used to automatically detect phishing sites used by fraudsters to impersonate financial institutions. The goal of the project was to speed up the process of verifying suspicious sites and enable them to be blocked faster, thus increasing user security and countering phishing.
The tool has been successfully implemented by the UKNF and supports ongoing cyber security activities.
✅ #AdsDetect - a mechanism for detecting false ads
As part of the second edition of the #Supervision_Hack hackathon, participants were tasked with developing a tool for detecting false ads. That's how #AdsDetect was created - a mechanism based on NLP and Computer Vision technology to identify fake ads used by cybercriminals for fraud and phishing. Such ads often redirect users to fake sites, such as those pretending to be banking sites, where sensitive information such as login credentials are captured. The goal of #AdsDetect is to protect users from these threats by scouring cyberspace and eliminating dangerous ads.
The tool supports the CSIRT activities of the FSC in the fight against cybercrime and has been successfully deployed, supporting the Authority in detecting fake ads.
✅ #SF_CRacker - a tool for analyzing SFCR reports
During the third edition of the #Supervision_Hack hackathon, participants created the #SF_CRacker tool to automatically collect, process and analyze solvency and financial condition reports (SFCRs) published by insurance and reinsurance companies. SFCR reports contain key information on the operations of the companies, their management, risks, and valuation and capital management. With #SF_CRacker, it is possible to quickly analyze qualitative and quantitative data, as well as create summaries and comparisons, which significantly increases transparency in the insurance market. The tool is based on Python technology and allows downloading data in a machine-readable format.
Currently Polish Financial Supervision Authority is working to fully implement the solution to improve supervision of the insurance sector.
#Supervision_Hack is a series of hackathons organized by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority to create innovative technological solutions to support financial market supervision. During the hackathons, participants, working individually or in teams, develop innovative projects using advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analysis.
The events are divided into two stages - the first, online, includes task presentations and mentoring support, and the second, onsite, where participants have 24 hours to create their solutions. #Supervision_Hack is very popular, with hundreds of participants each year, and the best projects receive cash prizes and a chance to be implemented in the supervisory activities of the FSC.
